Shopping for a new vehicle can be fun, exciting, stressful, and overwhelming all at the same time. Part of the process should definitely include test driving a few vehicles. It seems almost impossible to be sure that you want a certain vehicle until you actually drive it. Our Allentown Toyota dealer talks about what to look out for when test driving a vehicle.
Before You Drive
You can tell a lot about a vehicle before you even start driving it. Take notice of how easy it is to get in and out of the vehicle, and how comfortable the seats are. Pay attention to things like headroom, legroom, and all of the different seating positions. See if you can adjust the steering wheel. Check out all of the gauges and the controls, and see if they are easy to read and use. Check out all of the mirrors. Adjust yourself comfortably. Before or after your test drive, take a look at things like the trunk space, the storage space, and the audio system.
While You Drive
Once you actually start driving the vehicle, there are quite a few things to pay attention to. Check out how the acceleration feels, and how the engine sounds when you do it. Check out the brakes, noticing how the pedal feels and how well they work. Take notice of the steering and the handling, seeing how well the vehicle responds. Pay attention to the suspension.
