Under the Hood

The Avalon begins with a 3.5-liter V6 engine with multi-point fuel injection, an automatic transmission, and variable valve timing to create 268 horsepower and 248 pounds of torque at the same time that it offers an EPA-estimated 31 miles per gallon on the highway. Add to that a manual transmission mode for added control.

 

The Feel

The independent front and rear suspensions use a combination of struts, coil springs, multi-link, and stabilizer bars to create a smooth, adaptive ride while the leather interior and heated driver’s seat make that ride even more comfortable.

 

The Extras

The Limited features an eleven-speaker JBL audio system with AM/FM/CD/MP3 playback, SiriusXM readiness, touchscreen interface, and Bluetooth connectivity for streaming and hands-free calling. On top of that, a triple-zone automatic climate control system, on-board navigation, and cruise control make the Avalon a command center as well as a car.

 

Safety

Toyota didn’t get carried away with toys and forget about safety. Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes are controlled through a brake assistance manager to help stop you when you need it most. Intelligent airbags in the front are complemented by side and curtain airbags to protect the whole cabin. Finally, a rear camera and parking sensors gives you eyes in the back of your head.
