Although they aren’t new technology, dash cams are starting to gain more attention for their usefulness and utility. For luxury vehicle owners, a dash cam can help avoid many of the headaches associated with insurance claims and general road danger. Interested in getting one? We’ve listed our top three reasons why you should strongly consider getting a dash cam.

Defensive Driving

Just because you’re driving safely doesn’t mean that everyone else is. Dash cams can add to defensive driving tactics by recording the drivers around you in case an accident happens on the road. While we would all hope that the at-fault party would take the blame, there’s a significant chance that they won’t. Dash cams help prevent the situation from turning into a he-said-she-said situation.

Fraud Protection

Accident fraud is a common issue that plagues drivers of high-end cars. Dishonest drivers will attempt to cause accidents with high-end vehicles in order to get large insurance pay-outs since they assume the driver is well off. Dash cams can provide visual confirmation of accident fraud claims.

Parking Safety

Accidents in parking lots happen all the time, and many times the guilty party flees the scene since the damaged car is often parked with no witnesses. This no-witness issue creates problems for the driver of the damaged car since it makes it difficult, if not impossible, to file a claim against the other driver.

These three reasons are just a few why car owners, especially those who have high-end vehicles, should consider a dash cam.
