The Exterior Look

The all-new Avalon has a longer wheelbase and shorter overhangs. The exterior design is gorgeous with a sloping roofline and large front grille, with a new design that combines the upper and lower grilles to give it a sportier look. Toyota also added slim LED lighting, gave the XLE and XSE trims three bulb lights, and added LED daytime-running light accents to the Limited and Touring models.

The Technology

Technology includes five USB ports, and the Entune infotainment system now comes standard with Apple CarPlay and smartphone-based navigation. Step up to the Limited for wireless charging and built-in navigation, and an upgraded 14-speaker JBL stereo system.

The Cabin

Inside, the Avalon’s cabin is roomier than ever with plenty of headroom and legroom. All the materials are top notch, and in between the two front seats, the center console sweeps up to the dashboard and lands right at the new 9-inch touch screen. Choose the Limited for a sunroof, leather seats, and ventilation in the seats for the front row.

The Power

All the gas-powered Avalons come with a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine that delivers 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. The high-end Touring model adds a sport-plus driving mode, and all models come with a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

Liberty Bell Museum

The Liberty Bell is one of the most iconic symbols of American independence, but not many people know that Allentown provided a safe haven for the bell in 1777. In an effort to hide the bell from the British, who would have melted it down to create canons, the bell was safely hidden in an Allentown church’s basement. Today, you can visit this site at the Liberty Bell Museum.

America On Wheels

If you are looking for something a bit more recent, America on Wheels offers you a glimpse into the country’s automotive past with a rotating exhibit list. Everything from hotrods to emergency vehicles to unique forms of transportation have been seen in this museum — keep an eye on their website for upcoming exhibits.

Allentown Art Museum

For those with a love of art, the Allentown Art Museum provides a terrific place to spend an afternoon admiring over 17,000 pieces of historical work. Collections include European Renaissance and Baroque paintings, and a library designed by famous American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright.

The Toyota Tundra is a strong, full-sized pickup truck that offers a smooth on-road ride and excellent off-road capabilities. For 2018, Toyota added some new safety equipment and made a new TRD Sport package available on some of the SR5 models. It also received a styling refresh. The Trim Levels

Toyota offers the Tundra in four different trim levels so you can choose the one that fits your lifestyle. The base SR starts off with 18-inch steel wheels, a damped tailgate, and an integrated trailer brake controller. The SR5 adds fog lights and a power-opening rear window in the crew cab. Choose the Limited for a more luxurious feel with leather upholstery, 20-inch alloy wheels, and power-adjustable seats in the front. The Platinum adds LED daytime running lights, a sunroof, and heated and ventilated seats in the front.

The Power

The base engine for the Tundra is a 4.6-liter V-8 that gets 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque. For more power, choose the 5.7-liter V-8 that generates 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. The 5.7-liter offers quicker acceleration and more towing power with a max capability of 10,200 pounds.

The TRD Off-Road Package

You can take on the road in the Tundra or head off-road with the TRD Off-Road Package. This optional package adds alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, Bilstein shocks, skid plates, and front tow hooks.

Visit Blue Mountain Resort

Pack up your snowboard or your skis and head to Blue Mountain Resort. This mountain has the highest vertical in the state and also offers some of the longest runs in Pennsylvania for beginners. Blue Mountain Resort is also the only place in the Lehigh Valley area that has family-sized snow tubes, so you can all go down together.

Ice Skating

Head to Steel Ice Center for some skating. This facility offers programs for beginner and advanced skaters, and you can get out on the ice whether you play hockey, figure skate, speed skate, or you just want to glide around for fun. The Steel Ice Center is right in Bethlehem, PA and is easily accessible from Route 22 and Route 78.

Go to An Indoor Water Park

Pretend it’s summer even when the weather gets cold at Split Rock Resort. This resort features an indoor water park for guests of all ages. You can enjoy thrill rides, such as the Viper and the Amazon Blast, slide down one of the four-story slides, or play in the wave pool.
